Some beautiful rippling clouds roll up the Irthing valley and over Hadrian’s Wall at Willowford Farm this evening. Click here for large version.
Today we had a partial solar eclipse, just over 90% at our latitude. For most of the morning we had thick cloud but at around 9.30am it started to thin out and what remained proved to be a perfect veil for viewing the eclipse.
Some guests that were staying with us used a colander to project the eclipse on to a sheet of white paper – each hole in the colander produced a crescent.
